BABA – the British Amateur Boxing Association – was established in August 2008, with the three home nations of England (ABAE), Wales (WABA) and Scotland (ABS) as its shareholders.

The organisation was set up to manage the World Class Programme, initially for men (competing at all Olympic weights), but it now features women, after the August 2009 IOC announcement confirming that women will be invited to compete at three weights in the 2012 London Olympics.

The website includes a clear, crisp design featuring a user-friendly layout with news, media and an overall portal for everything to do with amateur boxing.

Profile pages for all the boxers and staff, plus a media gallery - with nested albums containing imagery and video content - is included within this feature packed portal.

Key social networking resources, including Twitter, YouTube and Facebook are also incorporated to enhance on the community values of the website.

BABA is also taking full of advantage of eBreamTeam, to deliver regular email newsletters to its database.

The website was launched on 9th November 2009 at the House of Commons, in front of an audience which included current and former boxing world champions, Government Ministers, MPs and organisers of the 2012 Olympics.

BreamTeam produced a showreel video which was exclusively aired at the reception, which also highlighted the role of amateur boxing in delivering elite success and consistent growth in grassroots participation over the last 10 years.
